Photos from my 2006 Vacation trip - Maui, HI and Rancho Leonero on the East Cape of Baja.

Went to Maui first. I was afraid I'd be going to a tourist-trap like so many other places. It wasn't!

I'm not sure who this place belonged to. Among others, Willie Nelson and Pat Benatar have homes on the island. I can't blame them!

Maui was actually two islands formed by different volcanoes. The islands were later joined by an isthmus to form the place we know today. That's the scientific version anyway. According to the Hawaiian mythology, the demi-god Maui fished the island up out of the ocean one night.

At any rate, the west end of the island, where the majority of resorts are located, is a drier climate, but it's still right pretty.

Now, compare this scenery, from the island's east side.
